Colman Summer Positions

All of our summer positions focus on mentoring youth and building community through the Y's Core Values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Caring, as well as the missions of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. 

 
 

Cabin Counselor

Minimum age 18
Starting at $225/week, plus room & board

Cabin Counselors live in a cabin with up to 14 campers and at least 1 other staff person.  Counselors are responsible for providing campers with a memorable and positive experience at Camp Colman.  This includes ensuring the physical and emotional safety of their campers, implementing various program components, and role modeling our core values through both words and actions.

Archery Specialist Counselor

Minimum age 20
Starting at $275/week, plus room & board

The Archery Specialist Counselor will live in a cabin with up to 11 campers and at least 1 other staff person.  The person in this position will supervise all archery instruction at Camp Colman, and spend the majority of the program day at the archery range.  They are responsible for maintaining the corresponding equipment and facility.  They will spend all meals, evenings, and overnight with their cabin group.  Counselors are responsible for providing campers with a memorable and positive experience at Camp Colman.  This includes ensuring the physical and emotional safety of their campers, implementing various program components, and role modeling our core values through both words and actions.

Waterfront Specialist

Minimum age 21
Starting at $ 300/week plus room & board

The Waterfront Specialist works with the Waterfront Director to safely implement and supervise all activities in camp’s saltwater lagoon.  This includes supervising and training Life Guard counselors, daily equipment checks, and implementing emergency procedures.  Must hold a current Life Guard certification with previous experience guarding on natural bodies of water.  The Waterfront Specialist is responsible for providing campers with a safe, memorable, and positive experience at the Camp Colman waterfront.
